Regeneration
Gum recession can occur from many causes but regardless of
the cause, recession can be treated by regeneration and/or augmentation of the
lost tissue, preventing further recession, sensitivity, bone loss or even loss
of the tooth.
When indicated, our practice will offer a new technique for
treating gum recession, which does not require taking tissue from the palate.
This material, called Alloderm, works the same as the patient’s own tissue, is
as safe and obviously more convenient. Advantages to using Alloderm include
less discomfort, faster recovery, more natural looking results and larger areas
can be treated in a single procedure.
